<p>I have one of those (recommended by Tomasz - HiFi Zone on YT) but haven't tried it as yet. My source is an Eversolo DMP-A8 that has an inbuilt analogue pre-amp that seems to be a little lacking in soundstage depth which is why I got the Accuphase. </p>
Really wonder how the Mcintosh clones will sound. The thing is you barely find any reviews, so you buy upon specs of clone brand name and hope to get something equavalent special. (still costs good money)
China hifi made me very happy with clone Quad kt66 tube amp, Willsenton R8 kt88, el34 tube amp (some grounding, capacitor upgrades recommended), phono tube pre amp clone Ear384 (upgraded with Psvsne horizon tubes) , Sound Artist speakers, Cayin El34 tube amp. all my speaker cables and interlinks are clones....Each clone brand adds something else, but it is trial and error and luck....but the journey to learn what works and what not is a suprise anyhow
@stef You don't see any reviews, because it doesn't make sense to review them. They can change layout, specs, components... any time. So who says your review-unit is the same as the next one?
Buying on specs is impossible. What specs can you link to sound quality? Wattage? Noise floor? SINAD? Size of the power supply...?
So far found 'HiFi zone' on Youtube does review various Aliexpress clones out.
Recent see more and more Accuphase or Mcintosh clones also tube pre amps. (expired patents)
The Orsefon 275 / Mcintosh mc275 clone, here I really wonder...the clone can't be too far off the original. price is not bad at all.
buying a clone amp or cable is like a gamble...as any new component is, it is a suprise package to test if it makes an audible difference you like or not in your own system.
With clones you don't break the bank yet. but no clue how the real deal sounds either....can only check reviews and desgn features and properties of the original.
Most clones i have in use now are Nord ost Valhalla clone speaker cables and Nordost ,Accuphase and Mcintosch interconnects. maybe test a few to compare to the real deal?
