B&W had vaak een dip in de frequentiekarakteristiek bij 5-6 kHz, waarschijnlijk veroorzaakt door het slecht affilteren van de woofer die een piek (kevlar resonantie) heeft die daar uit fase staat met de tweeter. Bij de pro- versies is die dip er niet. Het is dus een sausje dat er bewust overheen gegoten is bij de huiskamer versies.
Een bepaald high-end merk doet bij de duurste speakers bewust de tweeter uit fase om een diepe dip te veroorzaken. Heb dat gesimuleerd met de eq, klinkt ruimtelijk, maar klopt uiteindelijk niet.
