Privacy policy

Who we are

Our website address is: https://alpha-audio.net.

What personal information we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service if you use it. The privacy policy page can be found here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly visible in the context of your comment.

Media

If you are a registered user and upload images to the site, you should avoid uploading images containing EXIF GPS location data. Visitors to the site can download the images from the site and view the location data. Be careful with that.

Contact Forms

Questions can be sent on Alpha Audio via a contact form. These questions will reach the editors of Alpha Audio. All data is encrypted through our SSL connection. We can see your email address and ip address in this question or comment (these are used to answer and prevent spam). All questions are stored in a database.

Cookies

When you leave a comment on our site, you can specify whether your name, email address and website may be stored in a cookie. We do this for your convenience so that you do not have to re-enter this information for a new comment. These cookies are valid for one year.

If you have an account and you log into this site, we store a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted as soon as you close your browser.

Once you log in, we will store some cookies related to your login information and screen display options. Login cookies are valid for 2 days and cookies for screen display options are valid for 1 year. If you select “Remember me”, your login will be saved for 2 weeks. Once you log out of your account, login cookies are deleted.

When you edit or publish a post, an additional cookie is stored by your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and only holds the post ID of the article you edited. This cookie expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Posts on this site may contain embedded content (e.g. Youtube videos, Soundcloud Audio, external images, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor visited this other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with this embedded content, including interaction with embedded content if you have an account and are logged into that website.

Analytics

Who we share your data with

We do not share your data with any third parties. However, we do sometimes use embedded content. Clicks on that content – like Youtube – are registered by those parties and they might use it to track you. This is done outside the Alpha Audio platform.

We use Revive ad server (self hosted), Matomo (self hosted), Jetpack and Statcounter on the website. Revive we use to show ads. These do not track you. Matomo we use for statistics. It is set up so that we do not actively store any user data (cookie-free configuration). Statcounter and Jetpack are external services that minimally log data.

How long we store your data

When you leave a comment, that comment and its metadata is stored forever. This way we can automatically recognize and approve follow-up comments instead of having to moderate them.

For users registered on our website (if applicable), we also store personal information in their user profile. All users can view, change or delete their personal information at any time (username cannot be changed). Website administrators can also view and change this information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or you have left comments, you may request an export file of your personal information that we have on you, including any information you have provided to us. You may also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Comments from visitors may be routed through an automated spam detection service. We use Cleantalk as a security measure (bot logins / registrations / spam comments) and Cloudflare (general security / DDOS / bot attacks / etc).
