8 balanced armature units cover the entire frequency spectrum. A fully BA-built in-ear monitor. Despite its hefty size, the fit is fine. It is very similar to an in-ear monitor you see on stage. According to KZ, it would rival IEM’s from competitors that retail for 15 times the price of the AS-16.
How does it sound?
Neutral sound. Basses go less deep but are certainly there. It is close to a planar headphone experience. Spacious, fast, precise and balanced. Smooth, not tiring at all. We do miss the oomph of the bass, which we heard with the hybrid models where a conventional driver takes care of the bass frequencies.
