The set-up
Contents
We tested the new Audioquest Jitterbug FMJ in a few set-ups. But for a change not with a Dragonfly, as almost everyone does. We included the accessory in the system at home (also because of the renovation of the Alpha Audio listening room). And we connected it to the Mutec MC1.2 usb-converter. This got its data through both the htpc and the android phone. How handy is that Audioquest OTG cable! :-).
This system further consists of:
- DALI Epicon 2
- Driade Flow speaker cable
- Metrum Acoustic Adagio pre-amp / dac
- NAD C298 (mono)
- Custom HTPC with an AMD Ryzen 3 (zen2), 16GB RAM, SoTM usb card, GTX1660, SSD
- Mutec MC1.2
- Audioquest Diamond USB cable
- Grimm SQM XLR interconnects
- Gigawatt homebrew netcable
We have been working through the front ports at the HTPC, due to the changing of the Audioquest Jitterbug. In doing so, we wanted to determine the filtering of the Jitterbug, not the SoTM.
Question / Request please for Mr Jaap Veenstra’s attention please.
Morning Sir – thank you for the review in the Jitterbug FMJ. I have been using the previous version to much delight, now got the FMJ and am much impressed with the performance.
My question is if you could advise me on which model Gigabyte Notebook you referred to having the Audio Mode selection option on the USB ports.
I have reached out to Gigabyte Brand Managers in South Africa and Taiwan but to no avail – cant seem to get the correct info from them.
I currently use a Lenovo 10th Gen Intel i5 based notebook as digital source but alas no audio mode option selectable which probably means its limited to the Gigabyte systems.
if you could advise please Sir.
Thank you and regards.
The feature is called DAC UP with Gigabyte. It is mainly used on mainboards for desktop pc’s. I am not aware of such a feature in notebooks.
