Calling and music
Contents
To set a realistic test, we are going to use the Denon AH-GC30 for a full working day. Our Monday starts at 08:00.
In the car we’re already being called, then we’re 15 minutes away. At the office we first have to do compulsory social work, ask how the weekend was; you know it. Two esspresso further and we can start working behind the PC. The Denon AH-GC30 goes on and we choose an 80s pop playlist on spotify. This works great.
The noise cancelling on. It has three modes: plane, city or office. Well, we have to admit that we don’t hear the difference right away. But then we’d have to take the test on a plane. The noise cancelling works perfectly. Phoning with the Denon AH-GC30 has a crazy psycholigic effect. This is mainly due to the fact that we hardly hear anything from our surroundings and the auricles feel comfortable. We almost feel like we’re in a private office.
Music
In terms of music, we actually play cheerful music all day long. Partly to deal with our lunch dip, we switch to Reggeaton. Though this doesn’t turn out to be solid enough. So after half an hour we pull out hard rock and metal.
That makes for a productive afternoon. The sound quality is good. We hear the right balance and the elements in the music are clearly audible. For a thorough test, we decide to set up a new favourite of ours; Danny Vera – Roller coaster. What is striking is that the musical experience comes across as distant. Like it’s tamed, but it won’t come out.
We get the strong impression that there is more music in it, but that the Denon AH-GC30 contents itself. This seems to be the common thread. It doesn’t matter what we listen to, it sounds good, but it comes across as moderate. And especially with Danny Vera we know how much emotion can be in his voice. This is a pity about the Denon AH-GC30.
After a long working day we come home for the warm bite. At about 2030 hours, we pop down on the couch and grab the Ipad. A movie on Netflix? Our choice is The Dark Knight Rises. That’s over 2.5 hours of thick action with Batman. We are therefore fans of Christian Bale in the role of Batman. The wearing comfort and the closure of the headphones, are swallowed up by the action in the story. Here we hardly notice any of the tamed performance as with the music. After the film, the battery was still not empty. Finally, the 2 more days have gone by on 1 charge cycle. We made the 20 hours easy. That’s a huge plus point.
