Hypex Direct PreDigin
What can we say: excellent results! And that goes for both the dac module and the pre-amp as a whole. 132dB channel separation, excellent linearity, 118dB dynamic range (almost 20 bits) and a noise floor towards the -140dB mark. That’s downright bizarre for this price range. Great work by Hypex here!
Hypex Nilai mono
Like the Hypex pre-amp and dac, we see excellent results here as well. Power is spot on and noise and distortion is very low. Response is also by the book and nicely broadband for class-D (0 – 70,000 Hz). In short: no comments at all on this mono pair. What is noticeable, however, is that the mono is quieter and has a better linear response than the stereo version. And that is definitely audible!

Hi Jaap,
Thanks for another interesting review. Inspired by your video tutorial on building your own amplifier, I bought the Soundimport purifi eval6 kit and it sounds great. More recently I bought directly from Purifi audio the luxery front end for the 1ET6525SA Amplifier Modules and that was a clear step up in sound quality.
In short, you reviewed the original 1ET400sa modules, but in the meantime Purifi – like Hypex – has made interesting steps forwards. Maybe time to revisit them, e.g. the Eval 9 stereo or Eval 10 mono amp kits?
Best regards,
MarcelB
