Conclusion
With the Fidelice series, Rupert Neve is back to his roots. Back where he started about 60 years ago: consumer electronics.The Precision DAC is actually mainly a headphone amplifier, an analog preamplifier and then also an excellent DAC. Because we find that the distinctive feature of this Neve is mainly in the analog part: the headphone amplifier and the preamplifier. You will be rewarded with a detail richness, speed and transparency that are also special in this price and quality class. What a wonderful device to listen to and to work with when we are editing music (and we do that in these lockdown days especially at home). The DAC completes the device. Plug in a nice streamer and you're done.
Do we have anything to wish for? Yes; a remote control and a volume control that is adjusted in finer/precise steps. Then we'll put our signature on it.
