The Sonos ARC offers some nice qualities. First of all it is beautifully made. Immaculate even. Also the reproduction of voices is very good. In short: just watching TV goes very well with the Sonos ARC. If you are going to watch some ‘Neflix’ series, then that is also perfectly possible. Full throttle movies and music blu-rays… less successful in our opinion.

We see a target group for the Sonos ARC that already has Sonos and would like to upgrade the Playbar. And that will give an excellent audible improvement. Provided the TV also has eARC. And well: there aren’t many TVs that already have that. Although that’s only a matter of time of course, but here we do see an Achilles heel of the Sonos ARC: connectivity… again.

With the Sonos ARC, Sonos puts an excellent sound bar on the market for those who want to boost their TV sound. The reproduction of voices is good. And that makes it very suitable for watching TV. And bingewatching Netflix-series. But experience full throttle movies 'immersively'? No, we don't think so. At least not without surround speakers and a sub. If you do, the price tag will quickly go up to 2500 euros. And then there are just a lot of alternatives on the market. Think of a set of active streaming speakers from KEF, DALI or Dynaudio. They offer more connectivity and better music playback ... The choice is yours. Where is the priority?
