For whom?

Contents

Then the question: for whom is this high-end monitor from Japan? In any case, for someone who likes a neutral, honest reproduction. Someone who can appreciate the qualities of a high-end monitor. And someone with a system at this level. Because yes: a decent and clean input is rewarded. Logically.

Then the price: 12,000 euros per pair is just a lot of money. Anyway, our Focal Sopra No1 now costs around 9000 per pair including stands. And these Yamaha’s go a bit further in terms of resolution and refinement. The Sopra’s are a bit warmer and ‘tastier’ with some recordings… but certainly not better. In short: the extra 3000 euros is justifiable. By the way, don’t forget the SPS-3000 stands….

Conclusion

The Yamaha NS-3000 is a special speaker with special qualities. It comes across as incredibly clean and our measurements show that this is also the case: the distortion is simply very low. Those who like a neutral and clean presentation, will quickly fall in love with this high-end monitor speaker. You do need to have well filled wallet and a very clean pre-stage. Anyway... It's hard for us to say goodbye. Alpha Approved!

Hello,
Regarding the SCALE used in your MEASUREMENTS:
HOW FAR APART are the horizontal lines? Impossible to read that scale (Geee !!)
Are these 2dB, 5dB or 10dB increments? (especially regarding the frequency response, FR)

Please could you MENTION THIS in each of your graphs?

Thanks.
