Drop presents wireless desktop speakers

For anyone looking for a set of affordable desktop speakers to set up on – say – the desk or work table, Drop has something made for that.

The Drop BMR1 Nearfield Monitors can be set up either horizontally or vertically, whichever suits you best. According to the manufacturer, they create a “holographic” soundstage, which should provide a natural sounding image and excellent placement. Internally, BMRs (or Balanced Mode Radiators) are used, coupled with passive ones. This combination should – again according to Drop – ensure high volume (if desired) coupled with low distortion. In terms of connectivity, choose from Bluetooth or AUX-in, while a headphone output has also been arranged. Optionally, a subwoofer can be connected for an extra low end-punch. Customizable front covers – inspired by the brand’s keyboards – complete the look. Pre-orderable now, available from late February…March; a set costs $129.
