Technics has announced the new streaming amplifier SU-GX70, which should be available starting sometime in June this year.
With the imminent Technics SU-GX70 you can go either way, and for many it will be the only device they need as a hi-fi system. First, it is an amplifier that delivers an output power of 2 x 40 watts into 8 ohms, or 2 x 80 watts into 4 ohms. Furthermore, it’s the first device from Technics with an HDMI ARC connection, so relaying your TV sound isn’t a problem either. A built-in streaming module actually makes it that “all-in-one” solution for a lot of users.
Stream away
Stream music from Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, Amazon Music HD and, of course, Spotify. AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth complete the wireless capabilities (in addition to Wi-Fi), so you can also transmit sound from, say, your smartphone to the streamer amplifier. Need some regular radio? Then choose from FM, DAB+ or web radio. Three digital inputs , USB-A and USB-B plus analog line inputs and even MM-phono-in allow you to connect peripherals if desired. The Technics SU-GX70 costs $1799.
