HIFIMAN has acquired Chinese Goldenwave, and at the same time announced the Goldenwave Serenade desktop DAC-headphone amplifier.
Striking about the Goldenwave Serenade DAC headphone amplifier is, that under the hood you’ll find the HIFIMAN patented Hymalaya Pro R-2R ladder-DAC. Furthermore, a Class A headphone amplifier is implemented. The device supports up to 32 bit / 384 kHz quality via PCM, DSD64-DSD256 (via USB), DSD DoP64 (coaxial and optical), plus Bluetooth 5.0 with the codecs LDAC, aptX and aptX-HD. As for outputs, you can choose from a headphone jack in the form of a 4-pin XLR symmetrical or a more traditional a-symmetrical jack connector.
The Serenade will be available from July, at a cost of $1199.
