Goldmund Telos 8800: 1400 watts AB power

The new Goldmund Telos 8800 is one of the most powerful class AB amplifiers in the world, according to the Swiss manufacturer.

Looking for some stylishly designed power? Then the new Goldmund Telos 8800 might be for you. Although, of course, taste can always be disputed. Anyway, the newcomer delivers 1400 watts RMS power into 8 ohms, and that at 1% harmonic distortion. Of course, you do not have to play the mono Telos 8800 at concert hall volume continuously, but a lower volume works just as well. Internally, you will find four separate circuit boards, which are assembled and positioned in such a way as to keep system stability as high as possible. Furthermore, Goldmund’s own silver-metallized polypropylene film capacitors are used. These lead to such a stable power supply that the amplifier has no trouble with extremely low loads from 1 Ohm upwards.

Cooling sides

The sides of the column shaped Goldmund Telos 8800 enclosure are actually cooling fins. The whole device is completely analog in design, with provision made for the maximum achievable in terms of thermal protection and short-circuit resistance.

You may have already suspected so by reading the brand name, and indeed: the Goldmund Telos 8800 is not exactly cheap: 320,000 Swiss Francs, which is equivalent to 333,838.29 Euros. And you need two for stereo sound.
