Importer-distributor Servi-Q announces the ELAC 4Pi Plus V super-tweeter, a special upgrade for the 4Pi.
There are probably very few loudspeakers that have as long a history of updates as the ELAC 4Pi. And there is another one waiting for you, according to Dutch importer-distributor Servi-Q: ‘With the increasing trend of loudspeakers with sloping tops, challenges arose when placing a super-tweeter, especially since it has to be arranged horizontally. The solution? ELAC developed the 4Pi super-tweeter, designed to also fit on speakers with sloped tops. The pedestal was cleverly constructed by ELAC engineers so that the bottom section can be rotated, allowing the super-tweeter to always radiate horizontally. This ingenious construction has led not only to improved functionality but also to lower production costs compared to its predecessor‘.
The price – according to Servi-Q – has dropped by a whopping €349, making this innovative product now available for €1,199. Doesn’t that make everyone happy? Meet the most sophisticated speaker upgrade: the ELAC 4Pi Plus V.
Because this tweeter radiates all around, I think you can compare the 3D effect with that of an electrostat. But it is much easier to place it correctly, because the free space can be much less. I’m curious about Jaap’s review, whether this theory is correct.
