The Soulnote A-3 is a brand new reference amplifier, integrated and all. It also became the flagship of the Japanese manufacturer.
In fact, the new Soulnote A-3 is an amalgamation of other flagships from the manufacturer. Indeed, you will find technology from the P-3 preamplifier in it, along with (twice, because stereo) the M-3 mono output stage from the same brand. The whole system is completely analog. You will even find only analog inputs on it (3 x XLR and 3 x cinch for each channel). Digital inputs or even a phono input are missing. But in return you get a very clean and completely symmetrical unit set up throughout the design. Special (and convenient) is that the signal ground can be disconnected by a slide switch. This prevents – if you are lucky – annoying ground loops.
Solid power supply
The power supply of the Soulnote 3-A is also a work of art in itself, the basis of which is formed by two toroidal transformers (one per channel) with a capacity of 700VA. Rectification and smoothing are handled by SiC diodes and specially selected film capacitors. Furthermore, volume control is realized through a resistor network.
The Soulnote A-3 is available in silver and black, and you should pay €20,990 for it. Included are a power cord, remote control, wooden base plate and three spikes.
