Arcam Brings Hi-Res Tidal to Older Streamers

Owners of slightly older Arcam streamers can rejoice, as a brand-new firmware update is now available!

If you own an Arcam SA30 streaming amplifier or an ST60 music streamer, there’s good news. Although these models are now considered somewhat of a legacy, the manufacturer has released a firmware update for them, as reported here. After installing the update, the devices can now stream Tidal in high-resolution quality—up to 24-bit / 192 kHz.

Previously, Tidal could only be played using Arcam’s MusicLife app, and solely via MQA, which Tidal no longer supports.

Additionally, a separate update is available for some of Arcam’s older AV receivers. According to the company, this update improves eARC functionality via HDMI 2.1, and will also add high-res Tidal streaming capabilities.

All in all, it’s great to see a manufacturer still supporting its older products and keeping them relevant with modern streaming options.
