The now truly legendary rock band The Scorpions is being honored by Pro-Ject with a special-edition turntable.
For fans of both The Scorpions and vinyl, the new Pro-Ject Scorpions turntable is almost impossible to resist. As is often the case with the brand’s special editions, it is based on the T2: a belt-driven model with clear audiophile ambitions. This time, however, it comes adorned with artwork from the German rock band that achieved worldwide fame around the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Interestingly, the turntable is largely free of plastic components. The platter is made of glass, and the 9-inch tonearm is constructed from aluminum. Supplied and pre-installed is a Pick it 25A cartridge, which is said to deliver a dynamic and transparent sound. Also on board are a spring-based anti-skating system, electronic speed switching, vibration-absorbing feet, and an acrylic dust cover.
The Pro-Ject Scorpions turntable is available immediately, priced at €649.
