Dutch company Temporal Coherence has announced that upgrades are now available to bring older equipment up to current specifications.
Temporal Coherence designs its hi-fi products according to what it calls a “holistic concept.” By this, the company means that it looks at the entire signal chain — from electronics to the final transducers in the form of loudspeakers. The aim, as stated by the manufacturer, is to achieve an “overall optimum.” In practical terms, this means that the electronics are designed to compensate for the shortcomings of loudspeakers, with particular attention paid to time-domain behavior.
To prevent customers from having to invest heavily in completely new equipment — and thereby contribute to additional e-waste — the manufacturer has now developed upgrade packages. These allow older models to be brought up to date quickly and cost-effectively. The PA 030 and PA 080 power amplifiers are currently supported. After implementation of what Temporal Coherence describes as a modestly priced upgrade, these models are brought to the same level as the H versions.
