A clever idea: a USB trigger cable that allows you to control equipment with a trigger input via Roon. definiteAudio has introduced just such a solution.
Roon can be expanded in several ways, for example with the rooExtend Box. From the same manufacturer—definiteAudio—there is now also a USB trigger cable. This cable connects to the Box and allows you to control hi-fi equipment equipped with a trigger input, typically for switching devices on or off.
Automatic control is also possible if desired. In practice, this could help save a bit of energy, since there is little point in leaving equipment powered on or in standby longer than necessary. For enthusiasts, the manufacturer also notes that the smart little cable works under Linux, opening up additional possibilities—such as integration with a Raspberry Pi.
The cable is priced at $30 excluding VAT. Despite the dollar pricing, it is actually an EU-made product.
