Season opening at HiFi-Museum Nord

The German HiFi-Museum Nord always has something special lined up for the start of a new museum season—and this year is no exception.

You’ll find the HiFi-Museum Nord in Hannover, located on the grounds of the Hannoversches Straßenbahnmuseum (tram museum). So why not combine the two? There’s more than enough to explore for technology enthusiasts. The hi-fi museum itself houses a large collection of remarkable vintage audio equipment, spread across a total floor space of 640 square meters. You’ll find everything from phonographs to CD players. This year features a special exhibition dedicated to “tube radios,” while the Uher section has also been newly redesigned.

Another new addition is the opportunity to experience quadraphonic sound live this season—essentially the precursor to today’s surround sound systems. The HiFi-Museum Nord is open every Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM through October. Additional opening times include the Saturday before Mother’s Day (May 9), while on October 31 the museum remains open until 8:00 PM. Admission is €2, including access to the tram museum.
