Monitor Audio has updated its Radius range with the introduction of the new Radius Series 4G. The compact loudspeakers have been designed for modern residential and commercial environments.
The new Radius Series 4G represents a comprehensive redesign of one of Monitor Audio’s most successful compact speaker families. Based on the company’s Transparent Design Philosophy, the Radius Series 4G strikes what the manufacturer describes as the ideal balance between advanced acoustic engineering and contemporary aesthetics. “The result is a range of loudspeakers that are designed to be seen as well as heard,” according to the manufacturer.
Three Models
The Radius Series 4G consists of three models: the Radius 1, Radius 3 and Radius On-Wall. A carefully curated range of accessories is also available, including a dedicated floor stand, a Desk Pad and two different wall-mounting solutions.
According to Monitor Audio, these products together form a flexible and scalable system suitable for a wide variety of applications, ranging from compact stereo systems to full multi-channel home cinema installations, multi-room audio systems, commercial environments and near-field desktop listening.
Acoustic Performance
At the heart of the Radius Series 4G are several significant technological developments designed to raise the performance of compact loudspeakers even further.
C-CAM
Monitor Audio’s proprietary C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium) technology remains central to the Radius 4G driver design. The material is lightweight, exceptionally strong and more rigid than conventional cone materials. According to Monitor Audio, this allows the cone to behave more like a perfect piston, resulting in highly accurate sound reproduction.
RST III
For this fourth generation, C-CAM technology is combined with the company’s latest RST III (Rigid Surface Technology III) cone geometry. This design further reduces cone breakup and resonances throughout the frequency range, helping to deliver a more natural and accurate presentation.
Gold Dome Tweeter
The Radius Series 4G also introduces a completely redesigned C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter. Unlike conventional designs, the new tweeter employs an external magnet motor system similar to that found in a full-size drive unit rather than a traditional internal puck magnet.
New Crossover Design
The crossover networks have been completely redesigned as well. Monitor Audio subjected the new crossovers to extensive measurement, listening tests and optimisation, with every component carefully selected to ensure the purest possible signal transfer between amplifier and drive units.

Monitor Audio has also paid considerable attention to the mechanical design of the Radius Series 4G.
Through-Bolt Driver Bracing
Using Through-Bolt Driver Bracing, the drive units are securely connected to the rear of the cabinet and tightened to a precisely specified torque. This increases cabinet rigidity and helps reduce unwanted chassis resonances.
HiVe II Port
All Radius 4G models feature Monitor Audio’s HiVe II (High-Velocity II) port technology. The design promotes smoother airflow and tighter, more controlled bass performance.
On the all-new Radius 3, the port has been enlarged by 50 percent compared to the previous generation, allowing even greater low-frequency performance from a compact enclosure.
Accessories
Floor Stand
The dedicated Radius 4G Floor Stand features wooden tripod legs that provide a modern aesthetic. Speaker cables can be neatly routed through the stand from the terminals down to the base.
Desk Pad
For desktop applications, Monitor Audio offers a precision-engineered Desk Pad. Made from rubber with a carefully selected hardness rating, it provides effective vibration isolation while also angling the speaker slightly upwards for optimal near-field performance.
