For the first time in more than 25 years, Rotel is launching a new passive loudspeaker: the Amora 5. A standmount model, to be precise.
The new Rotel Amora 5 is a passive two-way loudspeaker designed to be placed on a stand. Not entirely unexpectedly, the speakers have been developed to integrate seamlessly with the brand’s electronics. According to the manufacturer, they offer a wide frequency range, together with exceptional resolution and accuracy.
To achieve this, the Amora 5 uses a 16.5cm mid/bass driver and a 25mm silk-dome tweeter. The latter is secured by an aluminium ring, designed to provide a solid and stable mounting. Meanwhile, the mid/bass driver is mounted in a rigid aluminium frame, which is intended to improve mechanical stability.
The Rotel Amora 5 is housed in a sturdy MDF cabinet, featuring a bass-reflex port at the rear.
As always, that leaves the price: a pair will set you back $999, with a choice of black or white finish.
