Mark Friday September 25 and Saturday September 26 in your diary. On those dates, Dutch The Hifi Studio is organising a special event centred around the music of Bill Evans!
Listening to music is, of course, ultimately what hi-fi in all its forms is about. The Hifi Studio in Leiden understands that too, which is why the store is organising an event where music lovers can indulge themselves. On September 25 and 26, you can attend a special listening event dedicated to Bill Evans. During UNITRA UNSEALED, you will delve into his music, his story and, of course, his legendary recordings – played from vinyl on a complete Unitra system. According to the Leiden-based store, this will not be a traditional hi-fi demonstration, but an intimate listening session in which the music takes centre stage.
Unitra
The announcement continues: ‘A Unitra product specialist will be present to talk more about the brand, the philosophy behind its products and the technology behind this particular combination. This creates a special interaction between music and technology: first the story, then the music, followed by an opportunity to discover what a carefully designed audio system can do with that music.’
Unsealed
Then there is the choice of music: ‘Unsealed is a music concept created by Ezra and Vincent in which an artist, album or musical theme takes centre stage. The equipment is not the subject of the session, but rather the means of experiencing the music as convincingly as possible. We want visitors to enjoy the music to the fullest, just as it was intended. The original Unsealed session always takes place on Friday evening, this time from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. During the OG version, we always play just one album, and this time that album is Waltz for Debby by Bill Evans.’
During the OG session on Friday evening at 7:00 PM, you can choose whether you want to experience the original Dutch stereo version or the all-analogue Craft Recordings OJC reissue mastered by Kevin Gray.

Several listening sessions are available, although you will need to book quickly (which you can do here), as there are only ten places available for each session. The schedule is as follows:
