The new Eversolo AMP-F8 is a dedicated power amplifier that can be used in either stereo or bridged mode. Something for everyone, then!
Some audiophiles swear by an integrated amplifier with all the bells and whistles, while others prefer a system built around separate components. For those in the latter camp, the new Eversolo AMP-F8 could be an interesting option.
This is a dedicated power amplifier, delivering a maximum of 180 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 280 watts per channel into 4 ohms in stereo mode. Alternatively, switch to bridged mode and the amplifier can deliver up to 500 watts into 8 ohms. To deliver all that power reliably and consistently, the amplifier is built around a substantial 800-watt toroidal transformer, followed by a linear power supply. The AMP-F8 also boasts a total harmonic distortion (THD) figure of just 0.003%, along with a signal-to-noise ratio of 115 dB.
The amplifier uses a Class A/B design, with three pairs of precisely matched MOSFETs driving the connected loudspeakers. As for inputs, you can choose between balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connections. Consequently, you should be able to connect just about any preamplifier you can think of.
The Eversolo AMP-F8 costs £1,749 and is available immediately.
