Today Denon announces a major free firmware update for its Home range, bringing 5.1 surround sound, among other features. The latest update ready for the Denon Home (1) Soundbar 550 provides wireless 5.1 surround sound. Listeners who have the new soundbar can now use Denon Home 150, 250 or via 350 as a wireless back for a fully immersive experience, the manufacturer reports. The Home Soundbar 550 also gets a DSP boost for improved bass response. In addition to the many updates to the Denon Home range, all HEOS Built-in products will feature a fresh new look for the HEOS app.
Denon Home Soundbar 550 Wireless 5.1 Surround Sound
Thanks to the Home Soundbar 550’s support for the 3D audio formats Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, home theater enthusiasts can now wirelessly pair a pair of Home speakers as surround channels for an immersive surround system. Users can also connect a Denon DSW-1H subwoofer for larger rooms or more impressive bass sound to complete the complete 5.1 surround setup. ‘The sound is always filtered for the best sound, regardless of the option chosen. The lower frequencies are sent to the subwoofer, so the soundbar only has to provide more clarity and precision. These configurations are a snap to set up using the HEOS app,” the manufacturer says.
Improved bass response
Thanks to advanced DSP technology, Denon’s renowned sound engineers can retroactively improve the performance of existing products. In this firmware update, the Home Soundbar 550 offers more precise, faster and more controlled bass response for both music and movies.
An updated HEOS app
In addition, the HEOS app has been given a new look. New and experienced users of HEOS Built-In products benefit from a new user interface for easier navigation and operation of their music system, according to Denon. The Denon Home U26 firmware update is available to the majority of Home users worldwide
