Pink Floyd fans have something special to look forward to with the upcoming release of Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on 4K Blu-ray.
Last spring we wrote about the major remastering project of the iconic concert film Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII. At the time, it was shown in IMAX cinemas. Now you’ll be able to watch and listen to it in your own home cinema in full 4K glory, complete with Dolby Atmos sound. The entire remastering process was carried out directly from the original 35mm film reels.
The film captures the unique performance of Pink Floyd playing in an otherwise empty Pompeii — or rather, among its ancient ruins. An absence of an audience gives the film a particularly powerful and immersive atmosphere. The original recordings date back to 1971, and the film also includes rare footage of the band working on The Dark Side of the Moon at Abbey Road Studios.
You can pre-order the Blu-ray on this page for $32.98.
