Optoma has announced a new and exceptionally bright 4K laser projector: the Optoma UHZ78LV, complete with HDR support.
The new Optoma UHZ78LV offers two HDR formats – Dolby Vision and HDR10+ – and promises a peak brightness of 5,000 lumens. According to Dutch importer Klankbart, this puts it on par with some of the brightest projectors on the market, making it suitable for larger projection screens. It is a 3RGB laser projector, and Optoma claims 98% DCI-P3 colour accuracy, which corresponds to cinema-grade performance. The projector is designed for flexible installation and can be mounted at the front, rear or on the ceiling.

Dolby Vision and HDR10+ deliver what the manufacturer describes as “stunning image quality, bringing your favourite movies and TV shows to life.” Dolby Vision optimises each frame individually, resulting in a more dynamic and immersive viewing experience. HDR10+ enhances dynamic range and colour accuracy, providing greater visual detail and depth.

The UHZ78LV also features IMAX Enhanced mode for optimal playback of specially mastered content, promising a larger and brighter viewing experience.
