The New Jabra Elite 8 Active Gen 2 and Elite 10 Aim to Deliver Even Better Sound Quality in the Gen 2 Version.
The new Jabra Elite 8 Active and Elite 10 Gen 2 in-ears build on the success and design of the first generation, according to the manufacturer, and take the audio experience and content streaming to the next level. Both earbuds are the world’s first to feature an LE Audio smart case. “This case is powered by Dolby Audio, providing more spatial sound and an enhanced music experience. The earbuds are also equipped with ‘Natural HearThrough’ for increased environmental awareness. Jabra’s Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) has been further strengthened with improved mid and low-frequency noise suppression,” says Jabra.
Stream Anywhere
Jabra claims to have looked beyond the earbuds themselves with this new generation and has therefore designed the world’s first LE Audio smart case. The design includes dual USB-C and a 3.5mm jack, allowing universal content streaming with the press of a button. The chip inside the case enables users to stream audio from various devices directly to their earbuds. According to Jabra, users will experience less delay than standard Bluetooth connections between the case and the earbuds, resulting in better audio and video synchronization. Thanks to the LC3 codec, users can enjoy Hi-Fi sound quality. The included 2-in-1 cable turns the LE Audio smart case into a versatile adapter that can be connected to any device.
A New Dimension in Audio Experience
The earbuds, according to the manufacturer, feature enhanced Dolby Atmos support (for the Elite 10 Gen 2), Spatial Sound, and new Spatial sound benefits: “In blind tests, 95 percent of respondents preferred the Spatial Sound of the Gen 2.”
Additionally, the announcement states that the call quality of the new (generation) earbuds has been optimized with 6-microphone call technology and improved AI call algorithms. The microphones distinguish background noise from the spoken voice and prioritize the spoken voice. Effective noise suppression algorithms automatically activate depending on the activity or location, “ensuring clear calls and high speech clarity.”
ANC
According to Jabra, the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) has also been optimized, “blocking up to twice as much sound compared to the previous generation. The noise suppression of the internal feedback microphone has been improved, resulting in better ANC for mid and low-frequency sounds. Furthermore, the Adaptive ANC algorithms have also been enhanced, providing stronger noise suppression in various situations, including ambient noise on an airplane and background noise in places like the gym.”
The new generation of earbuds is also equipped with ‘Natural HearThrough’, which – according to Jabra – “ensures greater environmental awareness. This feature is optimized for wind noise suppression and is up to twice as effective as the previous generation. Thanks to smart algorithms that increase the HearThrough frequency range, ambient sounds come through clearer and more naturally, while wind noise and whistling are significantly less noticeable.”
