With the Campfire Audio Relay portable DAC and headphone amplifier, you can also boost sound quality while on the go.
Equipped with USB-C, the new Campfire Audio Relay DAC/headphone amplifier connects to any PC, laptop, smartphone, or tablet featuring this port. It works with all major operating systems: macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android — and although not explicitly mentioned, almost certainly Linux as well. Maximum supported PCM resolution is 32-bit / 768 kHz, with DSD support as well (maximum DSD resolution not specified).
Under the hood, D/A conversion is handled by an AKM AK4493, with a choice of six selectable digital filter modes. A 60-step volume control is included, and both balanced and unbalanced headphones can be connected via a 4.4 mm balanced output and a traditional 3.5 mm jack.
The unit is housed in a solid CNC-machined aluminium enclosure. Pricing is set at $199, naturally subject to current and future US tariff policies. For those looking for a matching in-ear monitor, Campfire Audio also has the newly introduced Iris ready to pair with it.
