As far as we are concerned, this new portable speaker only just qualifies as portable. It is a large device, although it is weather-resistant and offers an impressively long playing time on a full battery charge: 36 hours. Interestingly, the battery is also replaceable. The sound has been tuned by will.i.am and, according to the manufacturer, should deliver room-filling audio even in larger spaces. Two 5.25-inch woofers are combined with two 20 mm tweeters. You can stream music via Bluetooth or opt for a wired USB-C connection.
In addition, the LG xboom Blast comes with several extra technologies. AI Sound provides continuous real-time sound optimisation, while Space Calibration Pro handles room correction and Sound Field Enhance creates a wider virtual soundstage. Auracast is supported as well. Finally, there is AI Lighting, with the speaker’s Dual Ring Lighting Effect synchronising with the music. Here, you can choose from a variety of moods and genres.
