QSA Lanedri Ultimatum Infinity

Intro

That cables affect playback, we have – we hope – made clear by now. How much influence it has depends on the system, acoustics and perhaps the user. Anas Lanedri claims a complete transformation of the system with the QSA Lanedri Ultimatum Infinity cables. Reason enough to take a critical look at that.

Lugging up a large case, we initially had the thought that Anas Lanedri had brought an amplifier with him to test the cables with. So upon opening the case, we were surprised to see only boxes and bags. Where is that heavy thing now? … It wasn’t there … It was the speaker cables that were guilty …

You read it right: speaker cables with the weight of a serious amplifier. If we had to estimate: 20Kg for a 3-meter pair. No joke… these cables are really very heavy.

10.900 strands

The speaker cable contains – if we remember correctly – 10,900 strands of tinned copper. That’s per pole… so 21,800 in total per side. That partly explains all the weight.

Around stands is a neat, white sleeve. The entire cable is remarkably smooth, though of course there are limits, because the cable is just thick.

On those strands, in our case, are thick spades. These clamp perfectly to the TAD Evolution terminals. With the Pass we are a bit stuck, because the terminals on the back of the Pass are a bit larger and therefore hit the spade. With some improvisation, we still get it done.

QSA technology

We don’t really know much about the core technology of this cable series. The thing is, Anas Lanedri doesn’t really want to tell us much about the QSA technology. If we pull out the website we see this:

QSA, a proprietary marvel born from 22 years of intensive research and 4 years of rigorous testing, redefines audio experiences. Operating at the quantum level of metals, it transforms ordinary materials into superconductors, ensuring flawless electron flow, heightened conductivity, and a sonic purity that transcends industry norms.”

If we had to guess, it appears to be a special coating (with graphene and/or other superconducting substances) and electromagnetic treatment of the material. The coating can increase conductivity and the electromagnetic treatment can settle the cable in a certain direction. Although, of course, that effect is lost again pretty quickly. Anyway: it’s a guess and it would be something we would dive into when making the ultimate cable.

Why?

Now frankly, we’re not very fond of these kinds of marketing claims and stories. Just explain in broad terms what you did. The more mystery, the more questions people have, and also the more skeptics are going to rise up to overturn the story. After all, how are you going to make superconductors out of normal materials? You can’t do that at room temperature yet. (Many physicists have tried that; they haven’t succeeded yet.)

Note: we are not saying by this that this cable is pure nonsense (just check the measurements later in the article … it is not nonsense). We’re just saying that vagueness and bold marketing claims often cause people to walk away instead. And in this case, that’s kind of a shame. Because the cables are indeed special!

How special? Read that further down!
