The Live Test
Contents
Quick summary
As you can see and hear in the live stream, the PliXir BAC3000 plays at a high performance level. The sound is fast, neutral and open. This filter does not at all give the idea that we are dealing with a coloration or some other sort of ‘creamy sauce’. In the test it appears that the ‘signature’ is towards the Isol-8. This also gives speed, air and openness to a system. The YETI and Isotek tend more towards a touch of warmth and a more solid mid/low. That may be desirable. In our system it fits.
What we also want to say with this is that a filter has to fit in a system: it is a total picture. Too much openness, speed and air can be tiring. Too much cream makes a system dull and boring. It’s all about balance.

For sure, Balanced/Symmetrical AC Power Supply’s (“Conditioners”) come highly recommended.
Sound quality improvements are considerable, particularly LF performance (definition/resolution), mid-band clarity and dynamics. And all components (amps/per, source, DAC’s, Streamer’s) benefit. However, it’s best to consider two Balanced units (one for analog, other for source/digital) for best sound..

Any plans on testing the PS Audio P20 powerplant?
We really want to. But the importer is kind of lazy…
Power Plant (lowest power) powered Digital (DAC’s/CDP’s/Clock’s)
provides immense gains in performance/SQ.

I totally believe it. It’s been a long time since Ive tested a PSAudio PP.
