Response and phase
Due in part to the more compact and simple design as well as the use of decent components and a nice two-way filter, the Premium measures nicely. The response is somewhat more even and friendly. The phase behavior is similar to that of the Supreme.
Waterfall and impedance
Finally, the impedance and resonance. We see with the resonances two small ripples (2000 and 4000 Hz), but they are very low (-30dB). Resonance in the bass is the room; so think those away for a moment. Bottom line, neat performance from the Premium. Impedance is very favorable; we see nothing below 4.6 ohms. Electrical phase hits (-)45 degrees at two points, but since the impedance doesn’t dip very low, that’s not a problem. Not even for a tube amp.
