Timing Measurements Yeti NextGen

Timing measurements Van den Hul CNT

We see in the LCR and Timing measurements that CNT does respond differently than a normal metal cable. First of all, the impedance and phase is incredibly flat up to 300 KHz. The conduction is also practically linear up to 300 KHz. That is absolutely impossible with a metal cable. Capacitance is nicely under control with a maximum of 200pf and eventually around 120pf. So say on average 160pf. That is 80pf per meter, which is decent.

What the Yeti really excels at is constant propagation. The variation is minimal. Maximum 0.1ns on a 2 meter cable. That is very neat. The Van den Hul varies a bit more here. Despite having lower capacitance; that’s a bit odd.

All in all, we see neat measurements that show the special character of Carbon Nanotube cables very well: dead straight impedance and conduction up to at least 300 KHz. And a very stable timing character due to minimal propagation variation.

Conclusion

Yeti puts out an impressive product with the NextGen cable. Yes: it is a lot of money, but the fact is: Carbon Nanotubes are not cheap and it is not easy to make a good cable with that material. Yeti Acoustics is constantly looking for improvements, we know. A lot of time and money goes into that, too. But the result is worth it. The NextGen measures well and sounds good. Looking for an 'endgame' cable? Definitely try this NextGen. Alpha Approved.
