Small digital powerhouses are always handy, and the new Silent Angel Rhein Z1C is no exception, serving as a music server, Roon solution, and streaming bridge all in one.

With the Silent Angel Rhein Z1C, you have a versatile solution for playing and managing music while also functioning as a streaming bridge. It can be connected to a DAC or a hi-fi system with a digital input, using its audio-optimized USB output, for instance. Noteworthy features include a highly precise TCXO clock and what the manufacturer claims to be efficient noise suppression. A linear power supply is also included. The Z1C is the smaller sibling of the flagship Z1 Plus, but that’s just a side note.

External Clock Input

You can control the Silent Angel Rhein Z1C via the accompanying VitOS app. Through add-ons, you can configure the device as a Roon Server or endpoint. It allows for the aggregation of music from various sources, including streaming services. A wide range of popular hi-res audio formats, including FLAC, are supported, and DSD up to DSD256 is also on the list. For purists who want to squeeze out every last drop of performance, there’s an external clock input for a 10 MHz clock signal available.

The Rhein Z1C will be available this month for €1,699.
