The Platina Stream is designed to pair seamlessly with the recently launched Platina Integrated amplifier — though of course, you can use it just as easily with your own setup. At the heart of the streamer lies the ES9038PRO Sabre DAC chip, featuring eight channels engineered to dramatically reduce noise and distortion, according to the manufacturer. Supported by Quad’s proprietary clock circuitry and surrounding analog design, it promises exceptional performance. A Class A post-DAC stage further refines the output to extract every bit of sonic detail from the DAC. The maximum supported playback quality reaches 32-bit / 768 kHz PCM and DSD512.
Naturally, the usual streaming services — Tidal, Qobuz, and Spotify — are all supported. For networking, you can choose between Wi-Fi or a wired Ethernet connection. Around the back, the Platina Stream offers both RCA line outputs and balanced XLR connectors. And if you prefer to use an external DAC, the unit also provides optical and coaxial digital outputs.
Housed in a solid steel chassis with an aluminum front panel and anti-vibration feet, the Quad Platina Stream exudes quality inside and out. The price is set at €3,599.
