Gold Note PH-5 phono preamplifier

Italy’s Gold Note has released a new phono preamplifier in the form of the PH-5, with many setting options.

What for sure stands out on the new Gold Note PH-5 phono preamplifier is the touch screen. With it, you can set a lot of things according to your wishes and technical requirements. Choose – surely a basic requirement – from an MM or MC cartridge, for example. And then go for one of the eight available cutoff impedances. Furthermore, you can choose from the well-known RIAA correction curve, but also those of Decca London and American Columbia are at your disposal. According to Gold Note, the PH-5 is based on the more expensive PH-10. The whole thing is designed around a Class A circuit that guarantees – according to the manufacturer – an ‘incredibly low-noise signal’. Available only in black, at a price of €890.
