Wharfedale has released the Elysian 3 floorstanding speaker, a (relatively) compact unit that ‘fills the gap’ between the Elysian 2 and 4.
The new Wharfedale Elysian 3 measures 105 x 26 x 28.5 cm, making it just a bit smaller than ‘big brother’ Elysian 4. According to the manufacturer, the ‘3’ is intended for smaller rooms, which the listener still wants to fill with the same scale of sound. The AMT or Air Motion Transformer characteristic of this series is (almost naturally) also present in the Elysian 3, while the woven fiberglass midrange driver is the same as used in the Elysian 2. In addition, there are two bass drivers, each 18 cm in diameter, also made of woven fiberglass.
The Wharfedale Elysium 3 is available from this month, at a cost of £5999 per pair.
