Classic-Sounds Mullard 3-3 amplifier

With the Classic-Sounds Mullard 3-3 amplifier, you have a choice: roll up your sleeves yourself or buy a ready-made version.

With the Classic-Sounds Mullard 3-3 amplifier, you take a step into the past. That nostalgic feeling is further enhanced if you go for the kit version. After all, in the 1950s and 1960s it was quite common to solder together your own radio, amplifier or even TV. And although the manufacturer has chosen an original, classic design around EL84 tubes, among others, a modern circuit board has fortunately been provided. This at least simplifies the assembly as far as the “adjacent” components are concerned considerably. The required transformers are made in the UK with very high specs, according to Classic Sounds.

The Classic Sounds Mullard 3-3 amplifier delivers a maximum power of 3.5 watts. Should you want a little more power, you’ll have to wait for another model that the manufacturer will soon release, the Mullard 5-10 that will output a max of 10 watts.

The British Mullard 3-3 costs £720 ready-made (£685 if you still have the necessary tubes lying around yourself) or £690 for the complete kit. That’s the introductory price; from March 1, £130 will be added for the ready-made version and £115 for the kit.
