The new Teufel active STEREO M 2 set of bookshelf speakers combines modern streaming technology with classic hi-fi functionality.
The Teufel STEREO M 2 are three-way systems and can connect wirelessly and play music streams via AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Spotify’s streaming app. Radio lovers can use the streaming service TuneIn to choose their favorite channel from thousands of stations.
A coaxial chassis for optimal precision
The STEREO M 2 bookshelf speakers feature a large wok woofer at the bottom. The top side features the SCA coaxial chassis developed in-house by Teufel. This chassis combines center speakers and tweeters into a single component. ‘This saves space and provides extremely accurate sound reproduction. Because the treble and midrange are generated in the same place, they are perceived as point-like sound sources. Each cabinet houses three digital amplifiers (one for each driver), with a total power output of 100 watts (RMS) (60 W for bass, 30 W for midrange, and 10 W for treble). ‘Thanks to this powerful setup, the STEREO M 2 speakers can effortlessly fill even larger rooms with sound,’ says the manufacturer.
Streaming in all possible ways
The STEREO M 2 speakers are compatible with AirPlay 2 and Chromecast. Thus they offer support for the most important streaming systems and all content on smartphones running iOS and Android. The set can also be used in combination with several compatible speakers arranged in different rooms. The two bookshelf speakers are directly available in the apps of the popular streaming service Spotify. TuneIn, an Internet radio service, completes the range of streaming options by providing access to thousands of radio stations. The speaker set is equipped with both wireless connectivity and Bluetooth 5.0, making perfectly suited for connecting devices that may not have network access.
Smart control
The most important functions can be controlled via an app, but are also available directly on the speakers themselves. The control field lights up thanks to the proximity sensor as soon as the user approaches the speakers. There are keys for selecting the sound source and three preference keys. The latter keys can be assigned a Spotify stream or TuneIn radio station via the Teufel Home app. The user can use the central rotary wheel to control volume and play and pause or move to the next or previous track.
Intelligent technology
The wireless STEREO M 2 speakers also feature classic connections almost as a matter of course. Via the optical input, they can lip-synchronously transmit the sound from a connected television. Various sound sources can be connected to the stereo cinch input, such as a pre-amplified record player. The speaker set can be connected to the home network both wirelessly and with an Ethernet cable.
Chic and flexible
Both STEREO M 2 speakers are equipped with their own amplifier and must be plugged in separately. No interconnecting cable connection is required. The wireless transmission between the speakers enables completely new set-up options. Depending on your taste, you can keep the STEREO M 2 set neatly covered or remove the dust covers held in place with powerful magnets for a clear view of the woofer and tweeters. The surface of both color variants is finished with high-quality sanding lacquer.
