The new Q Acoustics M40 is not only active, but wireless too. Except for the power connection, as it almost always is.
Every extra cable in the living room is one too many, according to some. And that’s when a speaker set like the Q Acoustics M40 can come in handy. This is because these slim floorstanders are wirelessly linked together, in addition to being active. That again saves cables and an amplifier! Anyway, you can connect to the 71 cm high speakers completely wirelessly thanks to Bluetooth 5.0. In addition, the aptX HD and aptX Low Latency codecs are supported. If you want even more quality, there is a wired USB input that supports up to 24 bit / 192 kHz.
2 x 100 Watt
As drivers, the British manufacturer uses C2 Continuous Curved Cone’s for the mid-bass and a decoupled tweeter in the Q Acoustics M40. The built-in amplifier delivers up to 2 x 100 watts of power. Apart from the USB input already mentioned, numerous other inputs are at your disposal. These floorstanders can therefore effortlessly form the basis of a stereo system. If you are going to work wirelessly via Bluetooth in particular, then you need nothing more than your smartphone.
The Q Acoustics M40 is available in black, white and walnut for a of €899 per pair.
