Central pivot of the Classé Delta Pre MK II is the streaming platform HEOS. And that makes this device a solid foundation for streaming.

If you actually still primarily stream music–and why not given, for example, the dropped subscription price of Tidal–you’re in the right place with the Classé Delta Pre MK II. This Canadian preamplifier is also a streamer, with the HEOS platform providing a solid foundation. Listen to the aforementioned Tidal or any of the other well-known music streamers such as Amazon Music or Deezer, for example. AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect are also at the ready, while you can also access music files from your local network on a NAS, for example. The Delta Pre MK II can handle a range of file formats: FLAC, ALAC, AIFF and the classic WAV. Nor does DSD present any problems, and even MQA is part of the deal.

Optional HDMI board

In terms of connections, you have a considerable arsenal to choose from. Two XLR, two RCA and two phono inputs (MM and MC) plus five XLR and five RCA outputs. There are a sub-out and a headphone jack too. If you also want to use the Classé Delta Pre MK II in conjunction with a television, an optional module is available. This adds four 4K-capable HDMI inputs and an HDMI output. The internal DAC can handle a maximum quality of 32 bit / 384 kHz.

The Delta Pre MK II costs €12,000. If you happen to already have an original Delta Pre, there is good news. You can have your ‘oldie’ upgraded to an MK II for €3000.
