With flagships from a manufacturer, one quickly thinks of equipment that is virtually unaffordable for the average person. Fortunately, with the new Q Acoustics 5050 floorstanding speakers, they are a bit nicer priced though. You pay €1699 per pair for them. Perhaps it’s still not an amount that everyone has ready at once for a set of speakers. But then it should be possible to save it up in a month or two or three! Heart of the speaker is formed by the 150 mm C3 Continuous Curved Cone Membranes. According to the manufacturer, they feature particularly powerful magnets. Together with a 30.5 mm large voice coil, this should provide – compared to conventional 25 mm voice coils – a 50% higher load capacity.
The 25 mm tweeter is mechanically separated from the cabinet, which should prevent interaction with the two mid-low drivers. Furthermore, much attention has been paid to the cabinet, which should lead to an optimal sounding system. In terms of finish, you can choose from white, black, oak and rosewood.
