AUER Acoustics Loudspeakers Now Available at Symphony Audio

Sometimes you just stumble upon something special—at least that’s what happened to importer Symphony Audio when they discovered the unique German brand AUER Acoustics.

The core of the news: effective immediately, Symphony Audio is the official Dutch importer of AUER Acoustics. According to Symphony’s owner and audio connoisseur Jan Coenen, “We offer a portfolio that doesn’t just excel in individual aspects but truly shines in overall synergy. Think of build quality, material choices, reliability, musical balance, and that unmistakable sense of understated refinement. Yet there’s always room for something new—especially if it adds real value to what’s already available on the market.

A Discovery in Switzerland

During a recent visit to Swiss manufacturer Soulution (another Symphony Audio brand), Coenen was introduced by Soulution owner Cyrill Hammer to Zurich’s renowned high-end audio retailer Soundloft. Among the brands carried there was AUER Acoustics—a previously unfamiliar name for Symphony. Curious, Coenen went to see (and hear) for himself, and the rest is history. Despite Soundloft also showcasing nearly the entire lineup of a world-famous, ultra-premium loudspeaker brand, it was – for him – AUER Acoustics that stole the show, so we read.

What stood out for Coenen ‘was the speaker’s more European design language, slimmer dimensions, and especially a seamless and naturally presented sound. Utilizing a sealed cabinet design for the bass, the speakers offered excellent control—ideal for Dutch and Belgian living rooms. Materials, fit and finish, and even the packaging (custom-built flight cases) were all top-tier and left a lasting impression’.

From Packaging to Acoustics

AUER Acoustics is the brainchild of designer Robert Auer. Interestingly, the Auer name is also renowned in the industrial world for its company Auer Packaging. Symphony Audio: ‘With annual revenue of €124 million, 200 employees, and 38 injection molding machines, Auer Packaging produces around 35 million high-end plastic products annually—right in Germany, not China or Southeast Asia. The factory’s cutting-edge processes and precise workflows are even compared to Formula 1 operations.

This robust industrial foundation allowed Robert Auer to launch AUER Acoustics in 2012, fueled by his passion for high-resolution, lifelike sound. The goal? To share the joy of ultra-accurate music reproduction with other enthusiasts. AUER combines precision engineering with traditional craftsmanship to deliver speakers that aim to be emotionally immersive and technically impeccable’.

Technology & Craftsmanship

AUER Acoustics’ cabinets are built using ultra-dense “Panzerholz” (armor wood), and all components—from crossover filters to drivers—are custom-specified. ‘The result is a sound that’s pure, natural in tonality, and dynamically engaging. These are uncompromising loudspeakers for demanding listeners who expect lifelike realism and excellence in every note’, according to the importer.

The Lineup

As of now, AUER Acoustics offers two floorstanding models (starting at €39,524 for the Versura V2), two monitor speakers (from €13,315 for the Versura Mini), and two subwoofers. All are delivered in custom-built flight cases crafted by Auer’s own packaging division. Symphony Audio notes that AUER’s pricing is “remarkably competitive compared to overseas high-end rivals.
