The Luxman D-03R is a high-end CD player featuring, among other things, balanced outputs and a new DAC design.
At the heart of the new Luxman D-03R – the successor to the D-03X – lies a completely redesigned DAC circuit. This core is built around two new ROHM chips configured in a dual-mono setup. It supports both standard PCM (up to 32-bit / 384 kHz) and DSD (up to DSD 22.5 MHz), accessible via a USB input. In addition, coaxial and optical digital inputs are available. For the last few diehards who still care about MQA, it’s good to know this format is also supported. Highly precise clocks and multiple filter options ensure that this device is far more than just a CD player.
One of the key features of the Luxman D-03R is its balanced XLR output. The unit is equipped with a robust power supply, with separate sections dedicated to different circuit blocks. Everything is enclosed in a sturdy aluminium chassis, complete with a high-contrast OLED display. The CD mechanism is mounted on a 3.2 mm thick steel plate, providing a low-vibration foundation.
