Dutch Distributor Viertron shares the sad news of the passing of its founder, Peter Viergever. Below is their in memoriam, in Viertron’s own words.
Peter Viergever, may he rest in peace
On Saturday, September 13, Peter Viergever, founder of Viertron BV, passed away. Peter was a passionate entrepreneur and the driving force behind the trade association Verenigde Audio Distributeurs and the VAD shows, which during the 1990s and 2000s turned the Koningshof in Veldhoven into the epicenter of the Dutch and international audio community — a role that venue still holds today.
Audio, hi-fi, and business acumen ran through his veins. Until 2002, he led his wholesale company Viertron with passion, helping brands such as Musical Fidelity and Meridian rise to great prominence. After many years of hard-earned audio success, the company was seamlessly continued by his daughter Sandra and son-in-law Marijn.
Even after stepping back from entrepreneurship, Peter continued to pursue his passions — from classic audio fairs to involvement with the local radio station ATOS in Zwijndrecht. He also dedicated himself to managing various church foundations, including the historic church of Kijfhoek. Despite the limitations imposed by rheumatism, he consistently maintained his energy and commitment.
He leaves a lasting mark on the world of hi-fi and in the hearts of all who knew him.
May Peter rest in peace.
