Telos Audio Design has found its way to distributor Reference Sounds — and the latter is, of course, a happy camper!
According to the brand’s new Dutch distributor Reference Sounds, Telos Audio Design is “a pioneer in mains filtering and grounding, with one simple goal: to shield connected electronics from pollution via the mains and grounding, allowing them to fully focus on the music signal. The distributor explains their enthusiasm:
“The triangle between sound, technology, and emotion is simply fascinating and not always easy to explain. But when something is right, you feel it instantly. Our first encounter with Telos wasn’t even about Telos itself, but rather a listening session with the compact Pendulum Integrated Amp at one of our Dan D’Agostino dealers. Connected in the beautiful listening room, it felt as if we had accidentally hooked up the large Momentum MxV to the speakers. The layering in sound, the fluidity of the dynamic range, the extreme holography and ‘speaker-less’ presentation, and above all the tone and energy in the bass — unbelievably real!
The Pendulum turned out to be connected to a temporary guest, the Telos Audio Design Tai Chi Power Station. Granted, this is one of the more extreme models in the Telos family, but the addition of this filter, combined with grounding, lifted the sound of this system to a breathtaking realism. That made us curious for more. Fast forward to today, as we write this introduction: our initial investment order is already on its way from Telos headquarters in Taiwan to Almere, with the aim of letting more systems benefit from these fantastic products. Starting with their Benelux debut at the Dutch Audio Event in Veldhoven!”

Shaping the noise
Telos Audio Design is the brainchild of Jeff Lin, founded in Taipei in 2006 with the conviction that contamination from mains and grounding holds back the musical potential of any audio system. “It makes sense, really, because in essence we’re all listening to a modulated power supply signal; source, preamp, power amp — they’re all interconnected building blocks that rebuild the signal from the power supply. Contamination in the power line from the grid can thus seep into the audio signal to varying degrees. The interconnection of audio products via signal ground and protective earth creates another entry point for interference through potential differences and noise. Telos Audio Design tackles this pollution in a unique way with active mains filtering and ground noise reduction systems,” Reference Sounds explains.
Foundation Series
The Telos Audio Design lineup stretches from the extreme Monster Series — used during High End Munich by numerous ultra high-end brands — to the compact Macro Series with dedicated Noise Isolation products. Reference Sounds comments: “The Monster models represent the very top of Telos and are ideal partners for our Dan D’Agostino, Wadax, Audio Research, and Mark Levinson models. But in Munich, Telos Audio Design also introduced an entirely new series that sits well below the Monster line while retaining many of its qualities — the Foundation Series Ground Core and Foundation Power Core. Active grounding and mains filtering in a beautifully styled enclosure that, after a proper warm-up, you can actually lift on your own.”
