A bit of extra bass never hurts in any setup — and that’s precisely what subwoofers are for. The new MartinLogan Grotto Series offers several appealing features in that regard. You can choose between two variants: a 12-inch or a 15-inch hybrid woofer system. Both models use an active aluminum bass driver combined with a pair of passive aluminum radiators. Power comes from an internal amplifier rated at up to 2000 watts peak (1000 watts RMS). A 500 MHz DSP with 64-bit processing ensures the highest possible performance and precision.
App-based configuration
Practical features include integrated anti-vibration feet, which help prevent sound transmission to floors and neighbors. A wireless transmitter and receiver allow for lossless signal transfer, while connectivity options include RCA and XLR LFE inputs, as well as a speaker-level input and sub-out. To fine-tune the subwoofer’s response to your room, the built-in Anthem Room Correction (ARC) system comes in handy. Configuration and setup are handled through the MartinLogan Subwoofer Control App, available for iOS and Android.
