We all know Ambilight by now — but Philips TV is taking it one step further with AmbiScape, delivering an even more immersive atmosphere.

AmbiScape, which appeared in recent weeks via a pop-up after a software update on selected Philips TVs, extends the already unique, immersive light experience of Ambilight TVs further into the room. The functionality allows up to four smart lamps to react instantly and dynamically to the Ambilight glow of the television. AmbiScape is currently available on four models in the 2025 Ambilight TV lineup, with an official launch planned for next year. Philips TV also confirmed that existing and upcoming features will be widely rolled out across the 2026 Ambilight TV range.

The first version of AmbiScape was distributed via a software update to a selection of TVs in the Netherlands and other European markets. More compatible models will receive the update in the coming month, according to Philips TV. The technology works with smart lamps from multiple brands, including WiZ, Nanoleaf, IKEA, and Philips Hue.

The Ambilight system is one of Philips’ major success stories in the premium TV market,” the company says. “With over 35 million Ambilight TVs sold, it has become one of the most popular consumer electronics technologies ever launched under the Philips brand.”, so explains the manufacturer.

Which TVs support AmbiScape

The current version of AmbiScape will roll out across Europe in the next quarter, initially for four Titan OS-based models:

  • Philips OLED760
  • Philips MLED950 (The Xtra)
  • Philips MLED910
  • Philips PUS9000 (The One)

These TVs have been available since spring in the Netherlands and Belgium, and all compatible smart lamps are also widely distributed. Both the OLED760 and 4K QLED PUS9000 (The One) will be available at significant discounts throughout Black Friday month (November), according to the announcement.

When the full version of the AmbiScape app launches in March 2026, the feature will expand to all Ambilight TVs from the Philips 8000 Series and above across the 4K LED, MiniLED, and OLED ranges.

Easy setup and flexibility

AmbiScape can be activated directly through the on-screen menu (OSD) or via the Ambilight settings menu — or simply by pressing the dedicated Ambilight button on the remote. Pairing smart lamps is also promised to be easy: scanning a QR code displayed on-screen opens an instruction guide and list of compatible devices. Users can then add lamps using a step-by-step setup wizard.

AmbiScape will be integrated into a new version of the Philips Smart TV app too (available from 2026 in the app store). Up to four smart lamps can be connected in any combination of the supported brands, allowing users to mix and match devices to suit their budget and preferences. Placement and Ambilight mode — video, music, or static color — can be customized for each lamp.

Philips TV: “Finally, even dedicated gamers can enjoy AmbiScape: several Philips Evnia gaming monitors now feature the technology. The built-in ambient lighting effects on the back of these monitors can also be extended to up to four lamps in the room, bringing the full AmbiScape experience to the gaming setup”.
